Migrating from Third-Party Box Connectors

Introduction

With version 2.1.0, a major new feature is introduced: easy and seamless migration from third-party Box connector add-ons to the Connector for Box and Confluence by ServiceRocket.

Only one instance of the migration process can be run at any time.

Any attempt to run it multiple times will cause the consequent migration attempts to be stopped. A new migration process can be run afterwards.

Migration Process

The following macros from third-party add-ons will be migrated and converted to the Connector for Box and Confluence:

  • {boxdoc:docid,width,height,downloadable} to {box-document:boxId,unit,width,height}
  • {boxfolder:folderid,title} to {box-folder:boxId,unit,width,height}
  • {boxfolderwidget:folderid,width,height,view,sort} to {box-widget:boxId,linkAccess,width,height,view,sort}

The migration process will:

  1. Scan your Confluence pages, comments and blogposts that contain third-party macros.
  2. Upon detection, it will migrate the third-party macros to macros from the Connector for Box and Confluence by ServiceRocket.
  3. A new revision of your content will be created and the existing one will be backed up.
